How to use Teletext Tools: fixed pages, dense information and no scrolling.

THINK IN PAGES, NOT SCROLL

Each Teletext Tools page should fit inside the frame. If information grows, it becomes another internal screen or another numbered page.

DENSITY IS A FEATURE

The design is intentionally compact. It helps you scan choices quickly once you know the page-number system.

IF IT DOESN’T FIT

Correct fix: split into more screens. Wrong fix: hide content behind the footer or shrink text too far.

BEST START

Use P101 for the master directory and P199 for the full index.

SPEED NAVIGATION
PAGE BOX • SHORTCUTS • INDEX
Fastest ways to move around Teletext Tools using page numbers and the index.

TYPE PAGE NUMBERS DIRECTLY

Typing 101, 199, 201 or 500 is faster than browsing menus.

USE THE INDEX AS A TELEPORT

P199 is the safest route when you know the topic but not the exact page number.

USE NEARBY PAGES

Tools in the same section usually sit near each other. Use PREVIOUS and NEXT for neighbouring pages.

CORRECTING A MISTYPE

Just keep typing the correct three digits. The page box is built for quick replacement.

INTERNAL SCREENS
1/3 • 2/3 • 3/3
Difference between Teletext page numbers and internal screens inside a page.

PAGES VS SCREENS

A page number changes the Teletext page. NEXT and PREVIOUS inside the frame change screens within the current page.

WHEN TO SWIPE

Swipe left or right for internal screens only. Use the PAGE box for a new numbered page.

READ THE COUNTER

Labels such as 1/4 or 2/4 show how much internal content exists.

KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

On laptop or desktop, use the left and right arrow keys to move through internal screens.

CONVERTER POWER USE
PRECISION • SPEED • CLEAN RESULTS
Best practice for faster, cleaner and more reliable converter use.

CHECK FROM / TO FIRST

Most wrong-looking results are swapped units. Check the unit labels before changing the value.

USE SMALLER UNITS

Convert metres to millimetres, kilograms to grams, or litres to millilitres when you want cleaner everyday numbers.

PRESETS AS TEMPLATES

Presets are starting points. They fill sensible values, but you can change them freely.

UNIT FINDER

Use P201 when you know the unit but do not know which converter category it belongs to.

RESULTS & FORMATTING
READING OUTPUT
How result formatting works and why readable output matters in a fixed frame.

FORMATTING VS MATHS

Display formatting is for readability. It does not change the underlying conversion or calculation logic.

TRAILING ZEROS

Trailing zeros are removed to keep the Teletext frame readable and compact.

SCIENTIFIC NOTATION

Scientific notation appears only when it helps with very large or very small values.

NEED MORE DETAIL?

Choose a smaller unit or use a more suitable tool if you need extra precision.

MOBILE SHORTCUTS
iPHONE • ANDROID • TABLET
Practical mobile tips for smoother use on phone and tablet screens.

WAIT AFTER A SWIPE

A short swipe guard prevents accidental ghost taps on touch devices.

DISMISS KEYBOARDS

Tap outside an input to close the keyboard and reveal the page frame again.

ROTATE IF NEEDED

Portrait is usually best for forms. Landscape can help clocks, displays and visual tools.

NO PAGE SCROLL

If content feels hidden, use internal NEXT/PREVIOUS instead of trying to scroll.

USING TELEtext-TOOLS (7/10)
TIME & DISPLAY TOOLS
CLOCKS • TIMERS • FULLSCREEN
Best practice for fullscreen clocks, timers and display pages.

USE LANDSCAPE MODE

Landscape often gives the clearest wall display for clocks, timers and screensavers.

KEEP CONTRAST HIGH

Dark, simple backgrounds usually work best behind Teletext colours.

PREVENT SCREEN SLEEP

Use your device display settings for long-running classroom, desk or wall displays.

TIME SECTION

Use P300 for the time and clock home page.

USING TELEtext-TOOLS (8/10)
LOCAL SAVING
SETTINGS • DEVICE STORAGE
How local device saving works without accounts or logins.

NO ACCOUNT NEEDED

Teletext Tools is designed to work without a login for everyday use.

SAVED SETTINGS

Some tools remember choices locally on your device for speed.

PRIVATE BROWSING

Private browsing or clearing browser data may reset saved preferences.

MULTIPLE DEVICES

Settings usually do not sync between devices unless a page uses shareable URL options.

USING TELEtext-TOOLS (9/10)
POWER USER BEHAVIOURS
HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT
Subtle interaction patterns that make the site faster once learned.

MOST ROWS ARE TAPPABLE

If a row shows a page number or tool name, it is usually safe to tap.

COLOUR MEANING

Yellow often highlights navigation or emphasis. Cyan usually marks supporting information.

RIGID BY DESIGN

Predictability matters more than fancy animation. The frame should feel stable.

SECTION MEMORY

Learn the page ranges: 300 time, 400 random, 500 printable, 600 calculators, 700 converters, 800 arcade.
