HOW TO USE

1) Press START (pure black appears)

2) Optional: press FULLSCREEN first

3) Exit: ESC or tap/click black screen

COMMON USES

OLED rest: dark screen while keeping device on

Focus: remove visual distraction

Testing: check glow, backlight bleed, dust

NOTE

iPhone/iPad: fullscreen rules vary by browser.

If fullscreen is blocked, START still gives a pure black screen.

Safety: don’t use while driving.

FAQ

Is it really black? yes — the overlay is #000.

Why do I see glow? LCD backlight / IPS glow.

OLED “black crush”? very dark detail may vanish.

Can this find dead pixels? pair with 762–765 colour screens.

FULLSCREEN

Fullscreen button does nothing? browser policy.

Try again after a direct tap, or use START only.

Exit: ESC (desktop) or tap (mobile).

OLED / BURN-IN

Good: black pixels are “off” on OLED.

Still: avoid leaving any screen on for hours unattended.

MINI BLOG

Black screen testing helps reveal backlight bleed, glow, and dust.

Pair it with solid colours to spot stuck pixels quickly.

For calm focus, keep brightness low and exit with ESC.
