2) Set RATE (Hz) or use a preset
3) Press START → fullscreen
4) Film it with another camera
5) Exit: ESC or tap/click
WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR
Moving dark bars: rolling shutter / refresh mismatch
Pulsing brightness: PWM dimming / strobe backlight
Wavy grid: moiré + camera sampling limits
Split drift: top/bottom timing differences
BEST SETTINGS
Camera: 60 or 120fps video
Shutter: if manual, try 1/60 or 1/120
Screen: disable auto-brightness if possible
Room: dim lighting improves visibility
FAQ
Why do bars move? camera scan + display refresh aren’t aligned.
Why does it change at low brightness? many displays use PWM.
Does this measure true Hz? it’s a visual test, not a meter.
How do I exit? ESC or tap/click screen.
