WHAT THIS TOOL DOES
This compress PDF tool rebuilds each page at a chosen scale and image quality.
It is best for scanned PDFs, photo PDFs and image-heavy documents that are too large to email or upload.
The conversion runs in your browser where possible, so files do not need to be uploaded.
HOW TO USE
Choose a PDF on page 1, then choose a compression preset on page 2.
Use LIGHT QUALITY for clearer pages, BALANCED for normal use, or SMALL FILE for stronger shrinking.
Press COMPRESS, then download compressed.pdf from page 3.
IMPORTANT LIMITS
This method rasterizes pages, so selectable text, links, forms and tags may not survive.
For text-based PDFs, the file may not shrink much and quality may be worse than the original.
Large PDFs can be slow on phones. A laptop or desktop is safer for big documents.
PRESET GUIDE
LIGHT QUALITY uses higher scale and JPEG quality for clearer text but larger output.
BALANCED is the safest default for most scanned pages and everyday PDF compression.
SMALL FILE uses lower quality and grayscale to reduce size more aggressively.
BEST RESULTS
Start with BALANCED, then compare the downloaded file against the original before sharing it.
Use GRAYSCALE for black-and-white scans, invoices, forms and printed documents.
Use a sharper scale only when page text becomes too soft after compression.
