WHAT THIS TOOL DOES
This PDF to Text tool extracts selectable text from a PDF in your browser.
It places the text in the output box so you can copy it or download it as a plain .txt file.
It is for real embedded PDF text, not scanned pages or photographed documents.
HOW TO USE
Choose a PDF on page 1, then select all pages, first page or a page range on page 2.
Use FIRST PAGE to test a long PDF quickly before extracting the whole document.
When text appears on page 3, press COPY or TXT to save it.
IMPORTANT LIMITS
This page does not perform OCR. Scanned PDFs may return no text.
Tables, columns and line breaks may not match the original page layout exactly.
Locked, damaged or encrypted PDFs may fail to open or extract.
WHO USES IT
Students use it to pull notes or quotes from study PDFs.
Teachers and office users use it to reuse text from worksheets, policies and reports.
Researchers use it to collect references, abstracts and plain text snippets.
BEST RESULTS
Use PDFs that already allow text selection in a normal PDF reader.
If the result is blank, the pages are probably scanned images and need OCR first.
For long files, extract the first page before running the full document.
